About

Kia ora

Asian in Aotearoa is a space for exploring the lived experiences, thoughts and hot takes of Asian creatives in their 20s & 30s, one uncensored convo at a time.

Each episode features a new guest where we might discuss our concept of home and transnational ties, identity, parents, relationships, sex, racism, body/beauty, healing - and how this all shapes the way we move through the world and influences our creative work.

A bit about me, your host, I'm Jenna Wee and am Malaysian-Chinese, Melanau, Japanese, Pākehā and was born & raised in Auckland, New Zealand. I'm also a certified coach, Collaborator at Play CoLab, returning student and tarot enthusiast. Asian in Aotearoa is a self-funded project and labour of love, created with the intention to champion Asian creatives, have deeper conversations (and hopefully still laugh while doing so).

Curious? Got something to say, or perhaps sitting on a burning question or comment that we could discuss on the podcast? Leave a message below, email or slide into the IG DMs. Let's talk!
